Sydney, Jan 10 (ANI): Former Australia opener Simon Katich has said the selectors have done the right thing in dropping crowd-favourite David Warner from the first two one-day internationals against Sri Lanka, adding this decision would save the swashbuckling batsman from burn out.
Katich's former Test and New South Wales teammate Brett Lee had hit out at the resting of explosive left-hander Warner from the opening two one-day games against Sri Lanka in Melbourne and Adelaide, News.com.au reports.
However, Katich said it was hard for Warner to front for all 10 one-day internationals against the West Indies and Sri Lanka this summer then a four-Test series against India, having been on the road since Australia's one-day tour of England last June.
Katich said it was a part of parcel of things for every player, adding the way Warner's jam-packed schedule is he certainly requires some rest. (ANI)
