Lucknow, Jan 10 (IANS) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati Thursday asked the government to take "strong action" following the killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir.

Describing the killings as "deeply hurting", she told the media that action should be taken to ensure that such brutalities were not repeated again and India-Pakistan relations did not sour further.

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister did not elaborate what she meant by "strong action".

Indian officials have accused Pakistani troops of killing and beheading the two Indian soldiers in Poonch district.
