New Delhi, Jan 9 (ANI): Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar will address the first international conference on innovations in food processing, value chain management and food safety (IFpvs) at the world-class institution in food processing sector - called NIFTEM - at Kundli in Haryana, tomorrow.
Ministers of State, Dr Charan Das Mahant and Tariq Anwar will also be present at the function.
NIFTEM or the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management has been conferred Deemed University status. The institute began its first academic session last summer. It will confer B. Tech. (Food Technology and Management), M. Tech. and Ph. D. in the area of Food Technology and Management.
NIFTEM is organising an international level conference to create awareness in the field of food processing, value chain management and food safety.
The objective of the conference is to draw the attention of the sector on new food products, processes, developmental strategies, business growth models and bring together the concerned people for an overall development of the industry in the country.
The event will provide a common platform to bring together scientists, technocrats, entrepreneurs, industrialists etc. for exchanging their ideas and experience for formulating the strategies for future course of action, especially from innovation point of view.
The conference will provide opportunities to interact with the professionals of various segments of the food industry, policy makers from the Govt. departments, professionals from the ingredient sector and entrepreneurs from core and allied sectors of food processing industries in India and abroad
A souvenir of IFpvs will be released during these events and it will be an important publication of first such event of NIFTEM. (ANI)
