Fergie set to show 'lightweight' De Gea Man U's exit door

London , Mon, 07 Jan 2013 ANI

London, Jan 7(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is set to show young Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea Old Trafford's exit door after getting tired of his incessant fumbles and his troubles in dealing with the physical nature of the Premier League.

The astute United chief has asked chief David Gill and the club's American owners, the Glazers family, to fund a buy for a genuine number one, the Daily Mirror reports.

Ferguson is swiftly looking round for a replacement at the right price and eligible to play in the Champions League. De Gea and Anders Lindegaard have been chopped and changed this season but both have struggled to establish themselves, it reported.

United splashed out on De Gea when Fergie took a chance on his potential and brought him in from Atletico Madrid, but his fragility under pressure has not gone away, the paper said.

Ferguson's spies have been checking on alternatives for weeks but now the United boss is in serious discussions with Gill and the Glazers about a kitty for a new man, the paper added. (ANI)
