New Delhi,Crime/Disaster/Accident, Mon, 07 Jan 2013 IANS

New Delhi, Jan 7 (IANS) Three members of a family, including a four-year-old child, were found dead in mysterious circumstances in a house here while three others were unconscious, police said Monday. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

"The incident happened at Rajendra Park Extension at Nangloi in west Delhi, when a neighbour found the six lying unconscious inside their house Monday morning," said a senior police officer.

A police team reached the spot and took them to Deen Dayal Upadhaya hospital where Prempal, 40, Akhilesh, 17, and Vikas, 4, were declared dead by doctors. Devkali, 35, Lakshmi, 10, and Amit, 7, were under treatment in the hospital.

"It might be a case of suffocation caused due to the earthen stove in the house. Food poisoning could be another reason," Additional Commissioner of Police V. Renganathan told IANS.

"The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination and the exact reason for the deaths would only be known after it," he said.

The other three were still unconscious, he added.
