Former Pak captain Miandad to visit Delhi for final ODI

Islamabad, Wed, 02 Jan 2013 ANI

Islamabad, Jan 2(ANI): Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has revealed he would be attending the final one-day international of the ongoing limited-over series between the two countries in Delhi on January 6, adding that he has already obtained an Indian visa for the same.

In 2005, it was reported in the press that any requests for a visa by Miandad could be turned down due to his son Junaid's marriage to Mahrukh, the daughter of most-wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim, who is wanted in India in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case.

Miandad claimed that he had faced absolutely no problem in getting an Indian visa, and added that he is quite excited about travelling to Delhi for the big game, the Dawn.com reports.

Miandad currently holds the second most powerful position in the PCB, that of director general, and is directly reporting to the chairman, Zaka Ashraf.

Meanwhile, the World Cup winning captain Imran Khan has declined invitation citing political commitments. (ANI)
