East Delhi violence hit area remains deserted, situation under control

Now the situation in East Delhi is under control where one person was killed and several injured yesterday during a clash between police and a mob had occurred in the Mayur Vihar-III area. Maximum roads in the area were deserted and shops were remained closed on Monday in the East Delhi Mayur Vihar-III area. Police have detained at least 22 persons for enquiry. Meanwhile additional police personal have been deployed in the area to maintain peace in the area. Police sources have claimed that culprits will soon be behind the bar for the rampant.

Police have detained at least 22 people in this regard however not arrested anyone. Two cases have been registered in two police stations - Ghazipur and New Ashok Nagar in Mayur Vihar phase III. The cases are of rioting, attempt to murder and arson, among others. Twenty-two people have been detained.

Kerala School and Ryan International School, both in Mayur Vihar across the road did not open Monday, while two other schools, Mother Teresa and Salwan Public School reported around 50 percent attendance as parents were apprehensive about sending their wards to school.

It is noted that there had been a clash between Police and angered mob in the Mayur Vihar-III area on a trivial issue. Situation got tensed suddenly and one person was killed and many people, including 15 policemen injured in tha area.

Khoda, which is adjacent to the Mayur Vihar-III area, also got engulfed in the tension when police fired at a mob that went on the rampage after two men on a two-wheeler were injured when police tried to forcibly stop them.

About 600 Delhi policemen, including Central Reserve Police Force personnel, are deployed in the area.

To avoid further tension, police has blocked roads to the area and pickets set up every 500 metres. Ambulances and fire tenders have been stationed for any emergency situation.
