Story
Barfi is a story of a Nepali origin boy named Murphy or what people call him Barfi. He lives in Darjeeling and is deaf and mute. He always pull out one or the other prank on people and the inspector is really fed up with him.
He falls in love with Shruti who remains confused whether she loves Barfi or not and at a point decides to live a normal life under her parent's pressure.
Jhilmil is Barfi's childhood friend and after Shruti leaves Barfi, he falls in live with Jhilmil.
Many years later, Barfi and Shruti collide again. Barfi is running from police and also is in search of Jhilmil who is gone missing. Here while helping him find Jhilmil, shruti realizes she still have feelings for her.
Who does Ranbir end up with or there is an ending you have never seen before...
Barfi Review:
Though Barfi is a love triangle, there are very few movies made this way. Anurag has treated this film superbly.
Ranbir funny expression will keep you laughing but there will be a time when you will cry. His superb acting express his every action even without words. Ileana has made to Bollywood with a bang. However, the one who wins all accolades and who might overshadow the other two with her acting is Priyanka Chopra.
The best part, you won't find Ranbir, Ileana and Priyanka in the film but Barfi, Shruti and Jhilmil telling their story.
The film shows love can neither be defined nor contained by society's norms and it is unconditional.
Pritam Music will leave you humming long after you have left the theatre.
From the camerawork, to scenic places of Darjeeling to the superb acting, to the songs, to narration to everything in Barfi is just brilliant and there might be a National Award knocking on the door.
