Social activist Anna Hazare and his allies Friday evening end their fast at a scheduled time as Anna Hazare a day before had announced to end it at 5 p.m.. General (Retd) V K Singh, one of the 23 eminent personalities who had requested to Anna and his team to break their fast soon and to approach a broader road like political alternatives, offered a glass of juice to Anna Hazare.
General V K Singh, who also face corruption during his job when he was allegedly offered bribe for allowing sub standard Tatra Truck by a former senior officer, which he denied to do so and whistleblew last year, suggested Anna Hazare and his team to provide political alternative that will clean the entire system.
Anna Hazare and his team when realize that their indefinite fast was going to waste as government is reluctant to response Team Anna and not willing to pass in Jan Lokpal bill in this parliament session, they (team Anna) realize to challenge the government by providing the public a political alternative, so they have decided to end their fast unconditional.
However, their announcements of entering into politics have got mixed response and some supporters welcomed it while some irked.
According to a Television survey, 94% persons in a television survey have supported Team India's decision of entering into politics but some of their hardcore supporters were annoyed over it.
"We have come from Jaipur to support Anna ji but the way this fast ended is very disappointing and we are not pleased to Team Anna's decision to enter into politics as now team Anna will too loose their credential in fighting against corruption," said a Anna supporter from Jaipur who was present at Jantar Mantar from the very first day.
Former Karnataka Lokayukta and Team Anna member Santosh Hegde also said yesterday that he would not support Anna Hazare and his team floating a political party, but would campaign for candidates who identify themselves with his movement against corruption.
According to reports, some supporters of Anna Hazare at Navsari in Surat have burnt posters of the social activist and India Against Corruption. Some volunteers have reportedly submitted their identity cards with the management of India Against Corruption and refused to turn up at the event.
