Mayor of North Delhi, Mrs. Mira Aggarwal has directed to the senior officials to take stock of the arrangements made for checking of problems arising due to rains. She was addressing a meeting with Deputy Mayor, Azad Singh and Chairman, Standing Committee, Yogender Chandolia and Leader of House, Mahendra Nagpal were also present in the meeting.
The Mayor has said to officials that arrangements have been made to drain out water if accumulates in any of the low-lying areas or vulnerable points by installing pump-sets. She directed that the concerned staff should be in the field during rains to do the needful there and then to check the problem of water logging, if any.
She directed the senior officials to ensure availability of recourses. The Mayor herself took round of the some area in North Delhi Corporation to assess the arrangements made for the purpose of checking problem of water logging. She showed her satisfaction but asked the staff to be more vigilant and improve the system for prompt reaction if any situation of water logging arises.
A point was raised in the meeting that problem of water logging is observed in Wazirpur Industrial Area and at the site near Mundka the out fall of the drains is disrupted due to developmental works of Road-under-Bridge. The Wazirpur Industrial Area is not under the jurisdiction of NDMC and the project of RUB at Mundka has been delayed due to shifting of waterlines.
