India's Pankaj Advani has defeated England's Michael Holt by 6-4 to qualify for International Championship.
He defeated World No.32 Holt in a best-of-11 frame match that was played for over 180 minutes.
Advani at first took a 3-0 lead, but Holt won 4th and 5th frames. Advani then took the sixth frame for a 4-2 advantage and the seventh frame as well.
Holt then won two consecutive frames to make it 5-4.
But Advani claimed the 10th frame to secure his berth in the main draw.
Advani said, "I am extremely proud of this victory as it puts the country on the world map in international professional snooker. Having chosen to play the circuit as recently as July 2012, I am glad this victory came so soon."
Earlier in qualification rounds Pankaj defeated 6 times former World champion Steve Davis and former top-10 player Alan McManus.
International Championship is snooker's richest tournament with total prize money of £600,000 ($950,000) and will be held in China in October this year.
