Delhi government launches Common Travel fare card 'More Card'

In a bid to promote cashless traveling in all forms of commuting, Delhi Government Saturday launched a common travel fare card 'More card', which will work on DTC buses, Metro Rail, Metro Feeder Buses and even parking within city areas.

Urban Development Ministry's secretary Sudhir Krishna launched this smart card.

This card has been launched as a pilot project, initially it will work on Metro Rail and selected Metro feeder buses, an official of Delhi Urban Development department said.

This smart card will slowly replace the Metro Rail fare card within six months, he added.

Later, More Card will begin to function is state cities and local trains and even parking too.

'The selling of More Cards have begun at Delhi Metro point of sale counters and are available at a price of Rs.50 each just like Metro card, informed DMRC.

It can be recharged in a very similar manner like Delhi Metro card, added DMRC.

According to sources, there is also a plan to integrate more services and features in this card like paying toll tax and extending the use of this card in other cities including Railway tickets etc.

It can also be attached with the bank accounts with the holding customers for direct debit from the account, sources said.
