Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has denied any charge of corruption in UPA government and said that various laws introduced by UPA government raise the standards of integrity at all levels of government.
Manmohan Singh reiterated that there is not any explosion of corruption under his watch and he assured for maintaining a high standard of integrity in his conduct and endeavored in raising the levels in system as well.
Prime Minister said that UPA has introduced various laws, which shows its commitment to fight against corruption like Right to Information Act, Public Procurement Bill, the whistleblower's bill, the Lokpal Bill and the Judicial Accountability Bill. In fact these laws will raise the standards of integrity at all levels of government, he added.
Terming Right of Information Act as landmark, Prime Minster said that coming generations will remember Congress Party and its President Sonia Gandhi.
It is noted that Manmohan Singh has been accused of overlooking the CWG scam and the 2G scam.
Prime Minister complimented the media for its criticism, but suggested regarding the exercise some balance and retain a sense of proportion in coverage of issues.
