Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has said that Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board has given its approval for construction of 7400 five storeyed EWS houses, ground plus four, at Bhalaswa Jahangirpuri. The estimated cost of 3400 EWS houses is Rs.172.29 crore. The decisions were taken in the Board Meeting chaired by the Chairman, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. UD Minister Dr. A.K. Walia and other senior officers also attended the meeting from the MCDs, DISCOMS.
It also decided to grant approval for construction of a community hall at Trilokpuri at an estimated amount of Rs.3.75 crore. DUSIB's budget for the year 2012-13 was also approved in the seventh meeting of DUSIB. The Budget will be sent to the City Government for further necessary action.
On the occasion Sheila Dikshit said that the items of work in respect of 3400 houses includes building work, internal water supply, sanitary installation, internal electrification, external roads, paths, water supply, drainage, parks, boundary wall and sewerage for STP complete. The estimated cost of another 4000 EWS houses is Rs.184.50 crore. While approving the construction project Smt. Dikshit underlined the need of quality construction and proper maintenance. The Board also gave its approval for construction of a double storeyed community hall at block-3, Trilokpuri, at the cost of Rs.3.75 crore over an area of 2140 sq. mtr.. The covered area at ground floor and at the first floor each will be 637.52 sq. mtr.
