As the holy month of Shravan begins, the much-awaited Kanwar Yatra is also all set for the month long ceremony and worshipping lord Shiva. Devotees of lord Shiva have been all set for their long journey and all the suitable arrangement for various temples have been made so that Kanwar Yatra can be made easy for the devotees.
During the Shravan month, which noticed generally in July-August, devotees start their yatra and worship to lord Shiva. For this pilgrimages bath in the holy river and take holy water for the performing their rituals. They worship lord Shiva with the very holy water dedicating to the lord Shiva. They finish the journey by foot and it took many days. The entire journey is a tough one and saffron-clad pilgrims carry water from various spots like Haridwar, Gangotri or Gaukukh.
It is noted that the Kanwar yatra occurred on the holy month of Shravan in which devotees of lord Shiva perform their Kanwar Yatra and worship Shiva. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajsthan are the states where devotees take part in the Kanwar Yatra and reaches temples. However Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh are such states where maximum Kanwar yatri took part in the Yatra and worship god Shiva.
In Bihar and Jharkhand, it is Deoghar where devotees reaches to worship Baba Baidyanath after taking holy Ganga water from Sultan Ganj and various many places. In fact Shravani mela is the famous occasion for the Deoghar where many devotees reaches here covering a distance of 105 km on foot. Allahabad and Varanasi is also a famous for Shravani Mela festivals.
For Delhi it is also a major festivals for the devotees of Lord Shiva when major administrative arrangement has been made for successful Kanwar yatra. Heavy security measure and traffic arrangements made on Delhi- Haridwar highway-58.
