South Delhi Mayor, Ms. Savita Gupta has suggested imposing 20 % off Tax only to Malls and Commercial Complexes and not to the resettlement colonies as per its earlier proposal, which has been revised from 12% on all the properties exceeding 150 meter falling under commercial areas under special category.
She convened a meeting with Chairman Standing Committee, Mr. Rajesh Gahlot and officials of Assessment and Collection department and discussed various issues related with House Tax, Sanction Building Plan and levis of commercial House Tax only to Malls and Commercial Complexes.
After the meeting Mayor, Ms. Gupta has assessed that the situation in which citizens of Delhi are facing problems in depositing Property Tax as the Corporation has not accepting payments through cheque from 1 of July.
She has advised that citizen should be facilitated to deposit property Tax through Bank Chalan and after accepting payment there should be some system through which citizen can generate ID and get payment receipts from there on Computer. Ms. Gupta also was in favour to issue "No Objection Certificate" from House Tax department before getting sanction of plan of the newly construction building to all land owners so that revenue is also generated.
