London Olympics invitees of India: Karan Johar and PM Manmohan Singh

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh received an official invite from David Cameron Pm of UK, while Karan Johar became one of the 506 dignitaries that have been called to watch London Olympics.

Karan receive the invitation from VisitBritain, the British Tourist Authority. He is the brand ambassador of VisitBritain.

Karan Johar said, "When the invite came up, I knew it's a once-in-a-life-time opportunity, so I grabbed it almost immediately. Surely it gives me a great feeling. It will be exciting to witness such a breathtaking event from close quarters".

"Had you asked me a few days ago if I intended to go to London during the Olympics, I'd have said, 'No chance' even though it is virtually my second home".

Karan who is presently busy shooting his next film Student Of The Year (SOTY) and judging a TV show believed that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and he should not miss it.

He said, " When this invitation came through, I jumped at the opportunity. After all, it's a very prestigious event," he added.

KJo will leave on July 26 and will be back in a couple of days.

London Olympics 2012 will be held from July 27 - August 12.
