The disbursement unemployment allowance to the applicants will be started by the Uttar Pradesh government from July, an official said Friday.
The work is in progress for the purpose and is in its final phase. A total number of 22,000 applications have been received in the employment exchanges from different districts. They have been shortlisted and approved for the allowance
The unemployment allowance would reach the bank accounts only in October, the official told IANS.
After the Samajwadi Party took power in Uttar Pradesh, the employment offices have been flooded by applicants from all across the state. Considering the huge rush, the government revised the basic prerequisites for required for the allowance.
Applicants between the age of 35 and 45 years will be entitled for the allowance. In addition to that, they should have passed high school (class 10).

Moreover, the government has also put an income ceiling as a part of prerequisite. In Lucknow, only 122 forms have fulfilled the criteria laid down in the rules for the unemployment allowance.
