Air India pilots to go to Airline house followed by family members

With the hunger strike of Air India pilots reaching its 5th day, the health condition of the protesting pilots has started deteriorating and has raised the worries and concerns of their parents and family members.

Earlier on Wednesday, three protesting pilots were hospitalised as their condition worsened on the fourth day of their indefinite hunger strike demanding the withdrawal of sack orders against 101 pilots and better career progression prospects. Doctors on Wednesday diagnosed Capt Manish Choudhry, Capt Yashima Singh and Capt Tejveer Singh with critically low blood glucose levels that can result in hypoglycaemic shock leading to brain damage.

To make the management think seriously on the matter the parents and family members of the striking pilots along with them will march for the Airline house to meet the CMD, Air India on Thursday. The march will start at 5.30 PM today from the striking point Jantar Mantar and will head towards the Airline House.

"The strike has been on for more than 96 hours but we are still awaited for any talks. This is really unacceptable. The health of the pilots is deteriorating with each hour passing which has made our family members and parents worried. So, to awake the management now our parents and family members has decided to take initiative and will march to the Airline house today", said Captain Rahul Deshpandey.
