Chris Gayle will finally play for West Indies after staying out of the team for 15 months, when the team takes on England in the ODI match at Southampton on Saturday.
On Wednesday he played a warm-up match against Middlesex at Lord's.
Last time he played for West Indies was in World Cup quarterfinal in which they were defeated by Pakistan.
He was removed from the team when he criticized coach Ottis Gibson and other senior Caribbean cricket officials.
However, after the intervention of Ralph Gonsalves, the Prime Minister of St Vincent, and Baldwin Spencer, the Prime Minister of Antigua, team selectors and Gayle reached to a solution and he was restored to the squad.
West Indies will be captained by Darren Sammy. Other team members like Dwayne Smith, Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell will also make a comeback in the team.
On the other hand England have lost Kevin Pietersen as he took retirement from ODI and was denied by management to play Twenty20s.
England side will be led by Alastair Cook, Ian Bell will play as the opener and all-rounder Ravi Bopara might get a recall in one-day side.
Gayle has made 8,087 runs in 228 ODIS with 19 hundreds, 43 fifties at an average of 39.06. But his strike-rate of 83.95 proves that he is one of the most dangerous opening batsmen at present.
