Mario Gomez struck twice as Germany beats Netherlands in Euro 2012

Mario Gomez of Germany struck twice in the first half of the game played yesterday between Germany and Netherlands helping his team win by 2-1. With this win Germany are on the top of the Group B while Netherlands are at the bottom after loosing both their matches.

Germany now has 6 points from two wins.

Gomez scored both the goals in the first half of the game. First goal by Gomez came in the 24th minute after receiving a pass from Schweinsteiger and converting it into goal. Schweinsteiger then assisted Gomez in second goal as well. Mario Gomez now has 3 goals in this tournament.

Though Robin van Persie of Netherlands scored one goal in the second half but couldn't avoid the defeat

Earlier on Wednesday Portugal defeated Denmark by 3-2.

Italy versus Croatia (18:00 CET)

Spain versus Ireland (20:45 CET)
