Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized congress led government for the religion based reservation and described it as a exercise of fooling to the minorities on the name of reservation.
Party spokesperson Nirmala Sitaraman said in a press conference that Government announced the sub-quota reservation for OBC Muslims just before the Uttar Pradesh elections. It was clearly politically motivated. Every one knows that reservation on basis of religion cannot be sustainable. The government is misleading the nation, specially the minorities, she added.
BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman told reporters at a party briefing here that it was always known that religion-based reservation couldn't be sustainable.
It is noted that Andhra Pradesh High Court has quashed sub-quota in jobs on religious grounds, which has become a major setback for the UPA governmente. However central minister for law Salman Khursheed has said that it will approach to Supreme Court in the matter.
