Indore, Fri, 25 May 2012 NI Wire

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today may file a charge sheet in RTI activist Shehla Masood's murder case in a special court in Indore.

CBI can frame charges against prime accused Zahida Pervez, Saba Farooqui, Shaqib Ali (danger) Irfan and Tabish. All of the accused can be produced before Special CBI judge Shubra Singh.

According to law, police have to file chargesheet against the accused within 90 days of filling FIR or taken accused into custody.

The 90-day period is being expired on May 26, 2012. So, CBI may today or tomorrow file charge sheet before period gets expires.

CBI had arrested Bhopal based-interior designer Zahida Pervez, her colleague Saba Farooqui, Shakib 'Danger' after scrutinising call details in the surrounding area where Shehla was shot dead in front of her house on August 16 last year.

Later CBI arrested Iran and Tabish in the case from Kanpur.

It was alleged that Zahida ordered the killing of Shehla as she was jealous of her purported closeness with BJP MLA, Dhruv Narayan Singh.

CBI had questioned Dhruv and also called him for conducting his polygraph test.

According to CBI, Zahida had allegedly hired contract killers through Shaqib to kill Shehla and had also maintained a diary of events that took place after her sensational murder.
