Singer Katy Perry has added another feather to her crown as she has been given artist of the year award at the Narm Music Business Association Awards.
The 27 year popstar was awarded for her stellar chart success over the last 12 months during the dinner at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel Thursday, says a contactmusic.com report.
"Katy's music was absolutely everywhere over the past year, and her dominance of the singles charts is a nearly unprecedented accomplishment. She has unquestionably blossomed into a true global superstar and has earned this award in every sense of the word," Jim Donio, Narm President, who presented Perry with the prize has been quoted as saying..
Besides Perry, the night was also special for Lionel Richie, who was awarded with the prestigious Chairman's Award for Sustained Creative Achievement.
