Rahul says congressmen, prepare for 2014

Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi has said to his party candidates to be prepare for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Gandhi told his supporters when he was reviewing the Congress debacle in recently UP election in which performance was lower than expectations. He said the candidates who contested in the state assembly election that there is a need for change in the organisational structure of the party.

He told the candidate to go in the public and raise the issues related to them. Apart from this they have to go on the grassroots level and be ready for the local body election to be held in near future.

In his review meeting, Gandhi meets more than 150 candidates of the UP who contested the last election and achieves more than 20,000 votes. All the candidate have to fill up a form in which he has to say what was the reason behind his defeat and other information which can be useful for the party in near future.

Under the whole exercise it has been revealed that many candidates have blamed the weak organisation and also booth and block committee was weak which was cause for the debacle.

Some of the candidates have quoted the useless wrong statements for their defeat. Ticket distribution was also a factor, which was mentioned by some of the candidates.
