Delhi Court dropped names of Google India and seven others from offending content lawsuit

Giving a major relief to software business companies including leading search engine giant, a Delhi Court on Thursday dropped the name of Google India and seven others from the list of offensive content civil lawsuit, which is going under trial in a Delhi Court.

The court dropped the names of Google India, on the basis of noting a point that it is only a software developing firms and does not operate any social networking site.

However, Google Inc is still included in the list.

The other companies which names have been scrapped are - Exbii, IMC India, My Lot, Shyni Blog, Topix, Zombie Time and Broadreader.

Delhi Court in this regard said that they were not found to be proper parties to the suit.

After Thursday proceedings, only six companies - Facebook (India and US), Google Inc, Orkut, Youtube and Blogspot - have remained in the list.
