Australia batsman Michael Hussey has announced a sudden retirement from Test matches on Saturday. 37-year-old will retire from Tests after Sydney Test against Sri Lanka.
Hussey made the surprise announcement on Channel Nine Saturday news bulletin.
Hussey said that he wanted to spend more time with his young family and it is the reason he has decided to quit.
Cricketer fraternity expressed their feelings via tweeter.
Mickey Arthur, Australia coach tweeted, "Was shocked when Huss told me of his decision. He will retire a champion."
Tom Moody, former Australian all-rounder tweeted, "Congrats Michael Hussey, an outstanding career, a true winner that worked as hard as anyone I've had the pleasure to play with or coach."
Jason Gillespie, former Australia bowler tweeted, "Huss, all the best pal! You deserve a strong send off at the SCG. Finish with a win!"
Regarded as Mr. Cricket, Hussey has played 78 Tests scoring 19 centuries and 29 fifties at an average of 51.53. Sydney test will be his 79th and last Test match.
Left-handed batsman Michael will continue to play in ODIs for Australian team.
