Panaji (Goa), Dec. 28 (ANI): Fans flocked to Asia's biggest music festival, the Sunburn Festival, and rocked the gala musical marathon with the world's leading disc jockeys delivering the grooviest musical hits here.
The Candolim Beach turned into a musical destination. Just five years ago, India's dance music scene was a niche market centred on backpackers' haven Goa.
The Joint Managing Director of Percept Limited, Shailendra Singh, said that around 125 DJs are participating in the three day long festival.
"I think the entire country unites in Goa for 'Sunburn'. You know this is that magical time between Christmas and New Year when the whole nation gets together and I think I have been saying that festivals like Sunburn have the power to make the social difference. 125 DJs, three days of non-stop music that is what India is all about. India is a very young nation. I think that's the way they like to celebrate. The Sunburn is magic and Goa is magic," said Singh.
The event heated up the party scene for the New Year festivities in this beach heaven of India.
On the opening day, the crowd was entertained by the performances of DJs
One of the visitors, Karan, said: "I have been coming here every year since the time it started. It's been crazy; I mean we just wait for this event every year."
During the past five years, soundtracks to major Bollywood films have begun adding club-friendly dance remixes of two or three tracks.
Sunburn gives a platform to the leading Indian electronica talent to share the same stage as the other global stars.
Indian electronica talents like Jalebee Cartel, Pearl, Ma Faiza and several others have partnered with Sunburn since its inception.
The sixth edition of the festival will conclude on December 29 and is expected to draw over 150,000 visitors to Goa. (ANI)
