London, December 28 (ANI): A Brazilian fast food firm has started serving its burgers in edible paper wrapping in a move to cut down amount of discarded packaging.
In its advert for the new product, the chain restaurant 'Bob's' shows customers happily tucking in to the paper-wrapped treats, the Daily Mail reported.
According to Odditycentral, the move has been such a success that the firm has managed to significantly reduce the amount of paper waste thrown away by customers.
Earlier this year a Harvard scientist reported the development of 'WikiCells,' - 'novel edible forms' that could be used to package food while taking on its flavour.
It's not known whether Bob's has used WikiCells technology in the making of its edible paper, but its customers do not appear to be complaining.
Bob's has also hailed the environmental benefits of the move. (ANI)
