'Underdogs' Kiwis eyeing unlikely T20 series win against Proteas

Wellington, Wed, 26 Dec 2012 ANI

Wellington, Dec 26(ANI): New Zealand captain Brendan McCullum has said if his team executes its plans precisely in the third Twenty20 international against South Africa at Port Elizabeth on the Boxing Day, they could be celebrating an unlikely series win against the might Proteas.

McCullum said they were always aware of their capabilities despite being touted as massive underdogs against South Africa at their home, and added that winning the second T20 has given them huge confidence to win the three-match series, which is well poised at 1-1, Stuff.co.nz reports.

McCullum added that the Kiwis have everything to play for in the final T20 and they would try to play aggressive and positive cricket throughout the match.

The Black Caps recklessly threw away wickets in the first match of the series in Durban, which they lost by eight wickets but bounced back to win the second match in an emphatic fashion. (ANI)
