'Books by scientists can link art and science'

Kolkata, Dec 26 (IANS) Books authored by scientists and those involved in science are "small edifices" that can bridge the gap between science and art, Dadasaheb Phalke awardee actor Soumitra Chatterjee said here Wednesday.

"Books by scientists are small edifices that can bridge the gap between science and art someday," Chatterjee said while launching a Bengali book 'Sristi O Kristi Bandhanhin Granthi' authored by Padma Bhushan recipient scientist Bikash Sinha.

The book, a compendium of Sinha's essays and articles on science, philosophy, education and literature published by Ananda Publishers, reflects the author's natural urge to write.

"Being a scientist, one is used to writing fundamental papers and ideas but writing compositions and essays is a natural urge. The urge to write comes from inside. I won't feel happy unless I write," Sinha said at the launch.
