New Delhi, Dec. 22 (ANI): Director General (DG) of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Rajiv made a surprise visit to Delhi Metro in the evening hours on Friday to inspect security arrangements, specially the safety measures adopted to protect and safeguard the women commuters.
Rajiv along with H.V. Chaturvedi, Inspector General, North Sector, arrived at Ghitorni Metro Station and at 9:40 p.m. and travelled to Huda City Centre at 10 P.m. He was there till 10:30 p.m. and thoroughly reviewed the functioning and security measures implemented at Metro Stations.
CISF Chief emphasised that CCTV surveillance system must be utilised efficiently and even smallest observation pertaining to security, be responded quickly.
He issued strict instructions to maintain proper vigil especially to protect the women commuters travelling in Metro Rail. An eye to be kept on drunken commuters and action should be taken as per the law and procedure.
Rajiv also instructed CISF officers of DMRC that proper co-ordination be maintained with Delhi Police and DMRC officials for a smooth and stringent security measures at Metro Rail.
He also emphasised that besides putting proper security measures in place at Metro Rail, CISF personnel should continue to help commuters and calls received at help-line number to be responded properly and quickly.
CISF along with Delhi Metro Rail Police and DMRC has launched "Operation Majnu" against the male commuters who harass the ladies and about 10 teams of CISF women led by lady sub-inspectors carry out the drive especially during the evening hours. (ANI)
