Arjun Modhwadia accepts responsibility for poll loss, resigns as Gujarat Congress chief

Ahmedabad, Dec 20 (ANI): Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) chief Arjun Modhwadia resigned from the post on Thursday, accepting moral responsibility for the party's poll debacle in the state.

Modhwadia, who also lost his Porbandar seat, said: "I accept the voters' verdict and take responsibility for the results of my party. I tender my resignation from the post of GPCC president."

Modhwadia was defeated by his BJP rival Babu Bokhiria by a margin of 17,146 votes, from Porbandar constituency.

Modhwadia had the won 2002 and 2007 polls from this constituency. He had defeated Bokhiria in the last elections. (ANI)
