Boney Kapoor has clarified that he is planning a sequel and not a remake of Mr. India and hence he would introduce a new villain in the film.
Boney talked to media while unveiling the cover of People magazine, which features his wife Sridevi and daughters Jhanvi and Khushi on its cover page.
He said, "Obviously, there won't be a Mogambo unless we are remaking the same film. As of now, we don't have plans of remaking the same film. We are working on a sequel. If there is a sequel, Mogambo won't be there, there would be a new villain".
There were reports that Salman Khan might play the negative role in the sequel, on this Kapoor said,
"I don't know. I am still studying and it's too early. I am very indecisive," the 15-year-old said, "If I had my way, I would plan every film with Salman Khan. But this is not in my hands, it will be according to the script."
Kapoor said that Sridevi would be a part of Mr. India 2. "Well, of course she will be a part of 'Mr. India 2' for sure. We are yet to finalize a script. Along with Anil, she will be part of it. My journey with her began with Mr. India, so obviously the journey has to continue and how can it continue without her, especially when it's Mr. India?"
His daughter Jhanvi too talked with media. She said she is not sure of her future plans. Jhanvi said, "I change my career plans every week, sometimes I want "to be a spy" or "an archaeologist" or a "writer". So I really don't know".
Kapoor (57) is currently working on "No Entry Mein Entry."
"But before I get down to 'Mr. India', we have just finished the script for 'No Entry Mein Entry'," he added.
Mr. India, a sci-fi cum comedy film, which released in 1987, was a big hit and the negative role of Amrish Puri was liked a lot by the viewers.
