North District has arrested one person namely Sampann Sharma from Moradabad, UP for smuggling of Horns of Cheetal/Spotted Deer and 4 Horns of Cheetal/Spotted Deer have been recovered from his possession.
A.K. Singh, Addl. DCP, North District said a secret information was received that one person namely Sampann Sharma, who is a smuggler of Horns of Chital/Spotted Deer will come at Furkania Masjid, T-Point, Inderlok on a blue colour Zen Car.
On receipt of this information, a raiding party former and the team took their position near T-Point, Furkania Masjid. At about 7:30 pm, one blue colour Zen car bearing No. UP-21H 8201 stopped near Furkania Masjid and on the instance of informer, the dedicated raiding team apprehended the person sitting in the car, who was later on, identified as Sampann Sharma s/o Lt. Pardeep Sharma Moradabad, UP. On search of the car, two gunny bags containing four Horns were recovered.
Wild Life Inspector as Horns of Chital/ Spotted Deer identified the same.
On interrogation, it surfaced that accused Sampann Sharma was born in 1972 at Chander Nagar, Moradabad, UP. He was in big need of money to pay his credits, so he decided to sell the horns of chital/spotted deer which was with him since his grandfather's time through some Mulla ji at Inderlok, Delhi.
Sampann Sharma wanted to sell the Horns for Rs. 2 lacs each. Police decoy customer HC Mahesh and token money was also paid to him stuck deal. He was apprehended at Furkania Masjid, Inderlok with four Horns of Spotted Deer.
