New Delhi, Nov 29 (IANS) Scattered rainfall and an overcast sky Thursday evening added to the chill in Delhi, forcing many people to wrap themselves up in jackets and shawls while the Met Office forecast more showers ahead and a cloudy day Friday.
"There is a western disturbance that lay over north Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir (Thursday) due to which there is light rain in Delhi and other northern states. The few spells of rain or thundershowers will continue till night," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told IANS.
According to the IMD, traces of rainfall were recorded in the capital.
"There were traces of rainfall, which was non?measurable since today (Thursday) evening," IMD official said.
The maximum temperature Thursday hovered around 28.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above average, and the minimum was around 9.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below average for this time of the season. The humidity ranged between a maximum of 92 percent and a minimum of 34 percent.
"Skies will be cloudy Friday and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 25 and 10 degrees Celsius," the IMD official added.
