London, November 26 (ANI): The Rolling Stones took to the stage at London's O2 Arena for the first time since 2007 on Sunday night to celebrate five fabulous decades in the music industry.
Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood were joined by their original bass player Bill Wyman for the highly anticipated concert.
The musicians dressed for the occasion with frontman Jagger wearing an eye-catching black and white blazer and matching trilby hat.
Richards wore a bright blue jacket and tied his wild hair back with red material as he rocked out on stage with his guitar.
There were also guest appearances from soul singer Mary J Blige and British guitar legend Jeff Beck.
The band had been welcomed on to the stage by an army of masked drummers, setting the scene for a nostalgic but highly charged opening salvo of I Wanna Be Your Man (Sir Mick singing Lennon and McCartney), Get Off Of My Cloud, It's All Over Now and Paint It, Black, the Daily Mail reported.
Sunday night's show, which was attended by 20,000 fans, was the first of five to mark the band's 50th birthday.
They play the same venue again on Thursday before one gig in New York and two in New Jersey in December.
Jagger made a cheeky reference to the furore over ticket prices for the sold out gig, -- fans had paid up to 406 pounds for a standard seat, and thousands of pounds more on ticket re-selling sites.
'Is everyone all right in the cheap seats?' he asked as he gestured to the upper tier. 'They're not really cheap, are they?'
And the band certainly attracted a variety of fans to the show - musician Noel Gallagher, comedian Noel Fielding and pregnant radio DJ Fearne Cotton were in the crowd. (ANI)
