Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has reiterated commitment of her Government to impart education to all children as they have a right to education as defined by the Right to Education. The City Govt. will not leave any stone unturned in implementing RTE Act in the capital city. A number of new schools will be opened and the existing schools will be optimally utilized. Dikshit expressed these views while distributing Academic Excellence Award to meritorious students of Dilshad Garden in a function at her residence.
The teachers are mainly responsible for character building of students and nation building by way of preparing better citizens of the country. Their contribution in this way is valuable. The teachers leave an everlasting impression on hearts and minds of students. They develop wisdom and prudence in children. We in our country take teachers in high esteems. Delhi govt. schools are being regarded better than the public schools.
The govt. has formulated a number of schemes to impart more qualitative and purposeful education. Nobody would have even thought ten years back that Delhi schools will attain a pass percentage of over 90 per cent. This change has not taken place in a few months, but it took years together to improve our schooling atmosphere, infrastructure and facilities.
Dikshit stated that it is our commitment to impart education to all students. The Govt. has been making humble efforts to implement the RTE Act. We are also taking all steps to open new schools and optimally utilize all existing schools. For overall development of students, it is necessary to impart them education by other means like video cassettes, electronic media and interactive class rooms. We are proud of all those children who are being awarded today. The govt. is sure that they will continue to perform their duties efficiently.
