Sydney, Nov 23(ANI): Australia-League side Melbourne Heart coach John Aloisi is confident his club has the best chance to sign former Manchester United star David Beckham if the star midfielder agrees to play Down Under.
The Heart is among at least three A-League clubs chasing the 37-year-old superstar, and they have tabled an offer to Beckham's management, offering around 1.7 million dollars for him to play a 10-match stint.
Former Socceroo Aloisi believes Beckham would be a perfect addition to his team, and believes if the ex-England captain chooses the A-League, the Heart is the ideal destination.
"If he comes to the A-League, I think we're a massive chance. Being in Melbourne, the sporting capital, any sportsperson loves sport. And coming up, what have we got? The Australian Open, the Grand Prix," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Aloisi, as saying.
"I'm not saying that's the reasons why he wants to come (to Australia). But if he does want to come, it's a good place to come," he added.
The Heart, Perth Glory and Central Coast Mariners are pursuing Beckham
But Australia is just one of a number of possible destinations, with China and the Middle East also huge contenders, as well as a possible return to Europe. (ANI)
