'NSG commandos are leading a pitiable life,' says Kejriwal

New Delhi, Thu, 22 Nov 2012 ANI

New Delhi, Nov. 22 (ANI): A day after the hanging of Ajmal Kasab, civil society activist Arvind Kejriwal questioned the government over not doing anything to improve the lives of National Security Guard (NSG) commandos, some of whom were involved in neutralising and killing the Pakistani terrorists involved in the 26/11 terror strike on Mumbai about four years ago.

Addressing a press conference here, Kejriwal charged the government with negligence and of denying NSG personnel their rights and the facilities that they deserved.

"Ajmal Kasab hanged yesterday. But what about those NSG commandos who fought that night and saved India? They are leading a pitiable life," said Kejriwal.

"Some of them thrown out of their jobs without pensions, they are footing their own medical bills, no honors for them," added Kejriwal.

Earlier, Kejriwal had written on Twitter that one of those commandoes who fought that night has dared to speak up and will address the media along with him.

"He would narrate the story of others too," wrote Kejriwal.

Kasab, who was caught alive during 26/11 attack, was hanged at the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune at 7.30 a.m. on Wednesday. (ANI)
