Manmohan Singh says, 'Government is ready to discuss all issues in Parliament' (Update: Manmohan)

New Delhi, Nov. 22 (ANI): Amid the beginning of the Winter Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday appealed for cooperation from all the political parties and said that the government is ready to discuss all the issues on floor of both the houses.

Asking all the political parties to join hands for cohesive and collective action in the interest of the nation Prime Minister said: " Parliament has a very heavy legislative agenda during this Winter Session. I seek cooperation from all my colleagues in the both houses to come together and address the issues and challenges that we face as a nation."

"We are ready to discuss all the issue on the floor of both the houses. We all have an obligation-both in opposition as well as in the government-to work together to enable our parliamentary democracy of which we are genuinely proud to grapple with the formidable challenges facing our country," said Dr Manmohan Singh

"Our country faces many problems on the economic front arising of the consequences of the global economic slow down. We need to create new jobs on large scale to provide gainful employment to our youth. We need to increase investment in infrastructure sectors and social sectors like health and education to accelerate the tempo of social and economic growth," he added.

Stating that the government is committed to take steps to boost the economy and development in social sectors, Dr Manmohan Singh invited all the political parties join hands for cohesive and collective action on the part of all segment of polity. (ANI)
