London, November 16 (ANI): A great-grandmother has revealed how she was the real-life Miss Moneypenny to original James Bond star, Sean Connery.

Olive Young, 75, was the film stars' personal secretary for six years during the 1960's after he poached her from his management agency where she worked as a receptionist.

Young worked for Connery during the period he made legendary Bond movies Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball and You Only Live Twice in the 1960's.

Like the on-screen pairing the employer and secretary kept their relationship purely professional.

And while they did not drink vodka martini they both enjoyed a glass of Scotch together.

"Sean was never flirty in the office, but he was very protective of me when we went out. He would protect me from other men. He was like a big brother," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

"He was a strong character, sometimes funny and sometimes very serious, but he was always hugely kind and a true gentleman.'

Olive Young eventually left her glamarous London lifestyle when she moved to Brighton, Sussex, where she married and became a mother.

Connery did, however, generously send her a postcard saying she could have her job back if she ever wanted to return to London. (ANI)
