London, Nov. 16 (ANI): Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has named Diego Maradona as his football hero.
The England star, 27, was asked who his dream strike partner would be.
"Am I allowed to say Maradona?" the Daily Star quoted Rooney, as saying.
According to the paper, the Argentinian, 52, punched a ball into the England goal during the 1986 World Cup.
Despite the blatant hand ball, the goal stood and set Argentina on the way to their 2-1 victory and saw England crash out of the tournament, the paper said.
Wayne also admitted he could not remember the first time he got Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson's infamous "hairdryer" treatment, the paper added.
"I've been on the end of so many, they all roll into one," he said. (ANI)
