New Delhi, Nov 14 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the 32nd edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) here at Pragati Maidan today.
Addressing the function, Mukherjee said the fair has been an excellent platform for micro, small and micro enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their products and penetrate both domestic and international markets at attractive prices.
Mukherjee also stressed that MSMEs are a source of rural empowerment, which is one of the key objectives of Government's agenda of inclusive growth.
Asserting that skill building is an integral part of a nation's economic progress, Mukherjee said ITPO has done commendable work in bringing all stakeholders together to share their experience at this important event.
In the 14-day annual fair, Belarus is the partner country , while South Africa has been chosen as the focus country. In the state category, Uttarakhand is the partner state and Andaman and Nicobar Islands the focus state.
The theme of this year's fair is Skilling India, which focuses on the initiatives undertaken by various government departments and private participants for the skill development of the youth.
The fair will be thrown open to the general public from November 19, as first four days have been solely reserved for exclusive interactions between the manufacturers, traders and exhibitors and the buyers.
This time entry tickets rates have been increased by Rs 10 at Rs 50 for adults and at Rs 30 for children on weekdays.
On weekends, the tickets for adults would be priced at Rs 80 and for children at Rs 50. (ANI)
