New Delhi, Nov 12 (ANI): India and Afghanistan on Monday signed four MoUs on the issue of mining, fertilizers, youth affairs and local residential bodies.

The agreements were signed in presence of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai.

Later addressing a joint press conference, Dr. Singh said both sides have agreed to further intensify and deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture and natural resources.

Dr Singh said, India will continue its support to Afghanistan in its development efforts and pledged New Delhi's support to eliminating terrorism in that country.

Asserting that the natural bond between the two countries is based on several millennia of engagement, Dr. Singh said 'India supports the nation-building efforts of Afghanistan, especially in the areas of governance, security and development'.

"The natural bond between India and Afghanistan is based on several millennia of engagement between our peoples. We also support efforts to achieve a lasting peace in Afghanistan that brings together all sections of Afghan society while preserving the achievements of the last decade, including in the area of women's rights. We respect the choices that the Afghan people make of their own free will," he added. (ANI)
