Mumbai, Nov 10 (ANI): Activists of anti graft organization, India Against Corruption (IAC), on Saturday protested against the India's leading industrialist siblings Mukesh and Anil Ambani following accusations that they had billions of black money deposited in Swiss Banks.

Close aide of India's anti graft crusader Arvind Kejriwal, Mayank Gandhi, led a protest outside the Ambanis residence in Mumbai and shouted slogans against the industrialists.

Gandhi accused the Congress-led UPA government of protecting the industrialists and colluding for cover up.

"Congress party is his shop? What does he (Ambani) think he is? The government is his shop? The Congress and Opposition party can be his shop, but people of this country we are honest. We are integrity people; we will not become his shop. We will protest against this kind of corporate house looting this country," said Gandhi.

Kejriwal said the government had details of 700 Swiss bank Indian account holders in the HSBC Bank branch in Geneva.

Kejriwal had also revealed that Anu Tandon, lawmaker of the federal ruling Congress Party, had 125 crore rupees (1.25 billion) in the Swiss Bank in December 2006.

The activist had claimed that leading industrialists such as Mukesh and Anil Ambani, Naresh Goyal, Dabur and Birla group had accounts in the tax-heavens.

Meanwhile, in holy city of Varanasi in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh, IAC activists burned the effigy of HSBC officials in rage.

The protesters demanded the federal government to take strict action and bring the black money stashed in off shores back to the country.

Kejriwal has leveled charges of shady dealings against Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress Party chief Sonia Gandhi, foreign minister Salman Khurshid and Nitin Gadkari, chief of federal main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). (ANI)
