After the approval of Home Ministry of Government of India, Pakistan Cricket team will tour India in December 2012 after 5 years of long gap.

Pakistan team will play 3 ODIs and 2 Twenty20 Internationals during their tour from 25 December 2012 to 7 January 2013.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) received clearance after a meeting between BCCI officials and India Home Secretary R. K. Singh in New Delhi.

Rajiv Shukla, Vice-President of BCCI said, "We have discussed all security aspects and the tour is on".

The venues where India Pakistan matches will be played in 2012 are Chennai, Delhi, Calcutta, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

Last time India and Pakistan played were in the year 2007-2008 when Pakistan visited India. After terrorist attacks in Mumbai in the year 2008, the relationship between the two countries worsened and no cricket series were played between the team since then (however both teams played International matches overseas).
