Maharashtra,Cinema/Showbiz, Thu, 08 Nov 2012 IANS

Mumbai, Nov 8 (IANS) Writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar does not like the trend of remixing old songs and says that old things should be left as they are.

"I don't like them (remixes) but then it's a democratic society, everyone can do what he or she likes... let old things be as they are and make new things. What is the need to redo old things? I don't like it," the 67-year-old said here in an interview.

Recently "Student of The Year" also featured some old Hindi songs with new beats.

Similarly, Farah Khan's "Main Hoon Na" featured remixed songs of composer R.D. Burman.
