Sydney, Nov. 6 (ANI): Renowned visual skills coach Sherylle Calder has been jetted in from South Africa to be with the Australian cricket team, training their eyes and reflexes on a revolutionary computer program, as they prepare for the first Test at the Gabba this week.
In the lead-up for Friday's Gabba Test against the Proteas, Calder will put the Aussie cricketers through 15-minute visual training exercises on her EyeGym online software program.
Australian coach Mickey Arthur is hoping that Calder can help give his players an edge, when they take on the world No.1 Proteas.
"I thought if this was a way of even getting an extra one per cent out of the team, we would do it. She comes with a really good pedigree - she has worked with a lot of very successful sporting teams," News.com.au quoted Arthur, as saying.
According to the report, the "Eye Lady" is known to have worked with World Cup-winning English and South African rugby union teams and also top sports-people such as Els, who thanked her during his victory speech at the British Open at Royal Lytham and St. Annes this year
The field goal hero of England's 2003 Rugby World Cup final win over Australia, Jonny Wilkinson, also engaged Calder to help with aspects of his ability to see spaces opening up, the report said. (ANI)
