Melbourne, November 5 (ANI): A 50-year-old mother from Byron Bay has said that she is proud to breastfeed her four-year-old daughter up to four times a day.
Maha al Musa feeds her pre-school-aged daughter Aminah in the morning, at night and a couple of times during the day, News.com.au reported.
"Society makes a big deal about it but I've never had any negativity," the former model and actress told Woman's Day magazine.
"I'm discreet, but I'm not ashamed about it. It's very important to say, woman to woman, 'It's OK to follow your instincts. Be proud of your womanliness and your ability to breastfeed your child."'
The mother-of-three says her daughter eats "everything" just like any four-year-old, but the breast milk is more of a supplement to boost her immune system and provide comfort and warmth.
Al Musa, who had a "conventional middle class upbringing," says she will let her daughter decide when to be weaned. (ANI)
